Fireworks

The possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling, and use of fireworks are prohibited in the City of Grapevine.  Exceptions:  When approved by the City Council and the Fire Chief for fireworks displays.  Fireworks include sparklers, rockets, firecrackers, roman candles, torpedoes, or any other substance in whatever combination used to obtain a visible or audible pyrotechnic display.  Fireworks are prohibited in City Parks, and open land areas within the City and under certain conditions are subject to confiscation and citations.

Fireworks Permitting 

Per the City of Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Article IV – Fireworks, Section 11-62, Ordinance No. 2021-060, adopted by the City Council on November 16, 2021, any application for a permit to conduct a public fireworks display within the City of Grapevine must be approved by a majority vote of the City Council.

Because City Council approval is required, the fireworks permit application must be submitted before the established deadline in order to allow sufficient time for staff review and for the item to be placed on the City Council meeting agenda. Applications submitted after the deadline cannot be added to the agenda and, therefore, cannot be approved by City Council, which would prevent the fireworks display from moving forward as scheduled.

Fireworks permit applications must be submitted before the deadline to allow time for any required corrections or site inspections. Late applications will not be accepted or processed by the Grapevine Fire Marshal’s Office.
