Grapevine Police Captain Ron Hudson just reached a new level in his legendary status as the world's fastest policeman. On Tuesday, June 9, 2019, in Abilene, Texas, Captain Hudson was inducted into the Texas Police Games Hall of Fame.
While Captain Hudson would be fine keeping the accolade to himself, his accomplishments are truly worth celebrating and recognizing.
Not only has Captain Hudson competed and represented the State of Texas and City of Grapevine in track competitions, he has also shined at the International Police Games in Australia and Canada. His accomplishments also include wins in the World Police and Fire Games. Hudson’s goal has always been to promote physical fitness in Law Enforcement, and he has utilized the Texas games to promote fitness and camaraderie.
Capt. Hudson began his endeavors in 1986, when he formed the Grapevine Police Track team and competed nationally at the games at Ohio State University.
He competed in the Texas Games from 1987 to 2000, where he finished in the top 3 in the open division in running events.
