Technical Services Division
Is responsible for the 911 Communications Center which answers all incoming 911 and non-emergency calls for service, then dispatches the appropriate Police, Fire, EMS, or Animal Services personnel. The division is also tasked with maintenance and integration of various radio and computer systems, as well as the digital records management systems that contain police reports, evidence and property inventories, and jail inmate information to name a few.
Dispatch
The Communications Center operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by:
- Communications Supervisor
- Three Dispatch Supervisors
- Fourteen Dispatchers
Dispatchers are responsible for:
- Answering nine incoming 9-1-1 Emergency lines
- Answering twelve non-emergency lines
- Dispatching Police and Fire Units
- Monitoring six radio channels, including the State Wide Interoperability Channel
- Processing data from Texas Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center

Records
Records Specialists receive and process all reports generated by police personnel in addition to compiling reports as required by the Department, State and FBI. During entry of the reports, Records Specialists perform quality assurance on the reports before uploading them into the computerized records management system to ensure accurate information is entered and also ensures a report is processed for all applicable calls for service.
All of the Records functions are performed by a staff of civilian employees, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
