Santa Cops Fundraiser – Tonight, November 28 

Join the Grapevine Police Department tonight, Wednesday, November 28 for a fundraising event supporting the Grapevine Police Santa Cops program.  This program provides toys to children in need within our community.  Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate and are invited to participate in a raffle and silent auction.  The raffle prizes include gift cards to local restaurants such as Bob’s Steak and Chop House and Farina’s Winery.  The silent auction will feature a variety of items incluuding a Yeti cooler, a gift card tree, numerous gift baskets, a wine refrigerator, and more. 

Date: Wednesday, November 28 

Time: 6 – 9 pm

39th Annual Parade of Lights - December 6 

Join us in the Christmas Capital of Texas® on Thursday, December 6 for the annual Parade of Lights, the largest lighted Christmas parade in all of North Texas.  The parade will begin at 7pm and is free to attend. Arrive early to select a spot along Grapevine's Historic Downtown Main Street. View the parade map, parking map, and additional parade details at GrapevineChamber.org. 

  

Hometown Christmas  FREE Through January 6 

Experience the charm and spirit of a classic American town preparing for Christmas. Stroll through vintage vignettes and snap pictures to create Instagrammable memories. This interactive Christmas exhibition will delight children of all ages. Additional information is available at GrapevineTexasUSA.com.

All aboard for fun on the North Pole Express, presented by Great Wolf Lodge!  Tickets for this highly anticipated event sold out in record time, but the Grapevine Vintage Railroad and TEXRail worked together to add additional excursions. Classic Christmas Movies at the Palace Theatre – November 30, December 3 & 5 

Join us at the Palace Theatre for your favorite classic Christmas movies.  A Christmas Carol, starring Alastair Sims, Jack Warner and Kathleen Harrison, is a story of redemption for a bitter old miser when he is haunted by three ghosts on Christmas Eve.  Can young Ralphie convince his parents, teacher, and Santa that a Red Ryder BB gun is the perfect Christmas gift?  Find out in the classic, A Christmas Story, starring Peter Billingsly, Melinda Dillon, and Darren McGavin.  Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire and Marjorie Reynolds star in Holiday Inn, which is only open on holidays and where a crooner and a hoofer are vying for the affections of a beautiful up-and-coming performer.  Tickets for all three shows are available at GrapevineTexasUSA.com.

Fall Fitness Challenge – Through November 30 

The REC invites you to be extra active this November with our Fall Fitness Challenge bingo game. The challenge gives you a chance to win prizes like koozies, water bottles, guest passes, and $50 REC gift cards! Bingo cards may bobtained beginning November 1 at the membership or fitness desks at The REC.  Participants have until November 30 to get all bingo cards submitted. iNaturalist Explorers Winter Tree ID & Nature Walk – This Saturday, December 1 

Identifying trees in the winter can be tricky after they lose their leaves. Join iNaturalist Explorers and learn winter plant identification skills with plant ecologist Suzanne Tuttle, former Manager of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. We will meet at Parr Park to take a guided nature walk and document wild plants and animals along the way with the iNaturalist app. All ages are welcome to join.  Smart phones are helpful, but not required.

A Merry Little Christmas Show with Ricki Derek – This Saturday, December 1 

Keeping Frank Sinatra’s music and style alive for the past 20 years has always been important to Ricki Derek and it shows in every performance, whether it’s with his trio, the Vegas Six, his 16-piece Big Band or his 24-piece orchestra. One of his most celebrated shows throughout the year is his “A Merry Little Christmas Show,” which has become a tradition for many. In its 10th year, this holiday musical experience includes affectionate nods to the past with its lush orchestrations backed by Ricki’s Ho, Ho, Ho Orchestra and its feel-good approach to the most wonderful time of the year. Ricki grew up watching the Christmas specials with Frank, Dean and Bing and loved them so much he wanted to recreate that feeling with his live shows. The show has all your favorite holiday tunes and features some very special guests. It’s a wonderful way to get you swinging into the holidays.  Tickets are available at GrapevineTicketLine.com.

Upcoming Blood Drive  - December 5 

Give the gift of life this Christmas season!  Be a donor. Bring a donor. The Grapevine Rotary Club will be hosting a community-wide blood drive on Wednesday, December 5 at two convenient locations: The REC, 1175 Municipal Way, from 8 am - 5 pm and at Wise Guys Pizzeria - Grapevine, 322 South Park Boulevard from 2:30 - 8 pm.  Drop-ins are welcome but appointments may be made at CarterBloodCare.com if donating at Wise Guys Pizzeria and at CarterBloodCare.com, if donating at The REC. 

 

Active Adults 6 Shooters – Thursday, December 6 

Come out and shoot with friends and enjoy friendly competition and comradery. This group is for those who want to keep their shooting skills sharp or practice for the License to Carry class. You may register at the Active Adult desk at The REC or by calling 817.410.3465.

Recent rains brought additional litter to the Grapevine Lake shoreline. Let's work together to beautify the water front. Meet us at Trawick Pavilion to pick-up supplies.  Teams will then work along the south shore of the lake.  Register to volunteer at KGVB.org

Daddy Daughter Dance, The Greatest Showman Presented by Cobb Real Estate Team – Tickets on Sale December 10 

Dazzle your daughter with a spectacle of song and dance and everything you ever wanted. Enjoy our selection of circus foods, take a photo in the PT Barnum tent and treat yourself to tasty desserts!  Tickets go on sale December 10 at GoGrapevine.com for Grapevine residents and December 17 for non-residents.
