Positive West Nile Virus Mosquito Sample  

One mosquito sample tested positive for carrying the West Nile Virus in the area of the 1500 block of North Dooley Street. Mosquito control ground spraying will take place within a half-mile radius of the relevant area on Thursday, October 4 at 10pm.  View a map of the area to be sprayed.   

 

Register to Vote – Deadline is Tuesday, October 9  

The last day to register to vote is next Tuesday, October 9. Registration forms are available in the City Secretary’s Office at City Hall, 200 South Main Street and at the Grapevine Public Library, 1201 Municipal Way. Public Safety Open House – Saturday, October 13 - FREE   

Mark your calendars!  The first Public Safety Open House event to combine Police and Fire will take place at Grapevine’s new Public Safety Building (PSB) on Saturday, October 13. This event will include tours of the new, state-of-the-art Public Safety Building, demonstrations, displays, and excellent photo opportunities.  Meet various police and fire personnel, enjoy up-close encounters with vehicles and apparatus, including the police command bus, SWAT units, ATVs, K9 and motor demonstrations, drunk driving simulator, Child ID, McGruff, P.C. Robot, and a dunk tank.  Our police and firefighters invite guests to learn about their various fire apparatus, experience the Bullex Fire Extinguisher simulator, vehicle extrication, CareFlite, a bounce house, and clown shows.  Complimentary hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, and popcorn will be served, so bring the entire family for a fun outdoor event!

Along the way, we will use the iNaturalist app to photograph and identify wild plants and animals that live in the park. All ages are welcome. Smart phones are helpful but not required. Matter of Balance for Active Adults - Mondays and Wednesdays, October 1 – 24 - FREE

The program is designed to help adults 60+ years of age reduce their fear of falling down through group discussion, problem solving strategies and increasing levels of physical activity. Fall Sweep – Saturday, October 6  

Fall Sweep is a community-wide cleanup event that gives volunteers the opportunity to keep Grapevine's Lake Parks and tributaries clean and litter-free. After all our hard work, we will meet at Meadowmere Park at 11:30 am for lunch and prize drawings. Fall Sweep is a great way to give back to your local community and to assist in keeping Grapevine beautiful.  For more information, please call 817.410.3490.
