Temporary Political Signs on Private Property
  • Temporary political signs may be placed on private property provided the chief building official does not conclude that the placement of the sign constitutes a traffic hazard. 

Temporary Political Signs in Public Right of Way
  • Temporary political signs may be placed in public rights of way in that portion of the City represented by a candidate for which a resident of Grapevine may vote. 
    • No temporary political signs shall be placed within right of way within any designated Historical District.
    • No temporary political signs shall be placed within right of way adjacent to public property.
      • Exception: Signs may be placed within the public right of way only adjacent to designated voting locations beginning on the first day of each voting period and shall be removed within 3 days after the election. 
  • Signs cannot be more than four square feet in area.
  • Sign stake cannot be more than a 9 gauge diameter as defined by the American Wire Gauge Standard. 
  • Signs may be placed beginning on the first day of the early voting period and shall be removed within three days after the election.

Temporary Political Signs on Public Property
  • No temporary political signs may be placed on publicly owned property including but not limited to city parks, city facilities, school district property, or state or federally owned property.  A public building used as a voting location is considered an exception to this regulation.
    • No temporary political signs shall be placed within right of way adjacent to public property.
      • Exception: Signs may be placed within the perimeter landscaping directly associated to the public property designated as a voting location beginning on the first day of each voting period and shall be removed within 3 days after the election, and must comply with the following: 
        • No more than 25 signs per candidate or ballot measure.
        • Signs cannot be more than four square feet in area.
        • Sign stake cannot be more than a 9 gauge diameter as defined by the American Wire Gauge Standard. 
        • Signs may be placed beginning on the first day of the early voting period and shall be removed within three days after the election.
