Technical Services Division 

Is responsible for 911 Communications Center via providing radio dispatching of Police, Fire, and EMS units. The division is also tasked with maintenance of radio and computer equipment and our digital records management system, as well as providing oversight to the Police Records Center.


The Communications Center operates 24 hours a day and is staffed by:

  • Communications Supervisor
  • Three Dispatch Supervisors
  • Fourteen Dispatchers

Dispatchers are responsible for:

  • Answering nine incoming 9-1-1 Emergency lines
  • Answering twelve non-emergency lines
  • Dispatching Police and Fire Units
  • Monitoring six radio channels, including the State Wide Interoperability Channel
  • Processing data from Texas Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center

    The Records section receives and processes all reports generated by police personnel in addition to compiling reports as required by the Department, State and FBI. During entry of the reports, the Records Clerks perform quality assurance on the reports before uploading them into the computerized records management system to ensure accurate information is entered and also ensures a report is processed for all applicable calls for service.

    All of the Records functions are performed by a staff of four civilian employees, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
