Disaster Preparedness
The North Central Texas area has developed a public education program to help our citizens, businesses, and visitors KnoWhat2Do! during disaster and emergency events. A series of grants from United States Department of Homeland Security helped to fund the outreach effort. Emergency management professionals from across North Texas developed a series of promotional materials outlining what to think about regarding disasters, how to prepare yourself and your family for emergencies and disasters, and ways you can take action to get involved locally with emergency and disaster response efforts.

An interactive website was created where you can learn more about the KnoWhat2Do! program and ongoing emergency preparedness efforts throughout the region. For more information please visit the KnoWhat2Do webpage.

As a courtesy to our citizens, KnoWhat2Do! materials are made available free of charge. Emergency preparedness guidebooks and emergency preparedness DVDs can be mailed to your address. If you are interested in making sure that you KnoWhat2Do! during emergency and disaster events, please fill the Request Emergency Management Publications form.
