A Message from Fire Chief Darrell Brown

ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 8TH FROM 10AM TO 2PM, YOU ARE COORDIALLY INVITED TO THE GRAPEVINE FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE.  BRING THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS.

JOIN US TO MEET FIREFIGHTERS, SEE FIRE ENGINES, DEMONSTRATIONS AND LEARN ABOUT SAFETY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS.  PARTICIPATE IN GAMES, EAT HOT DOGS OR USE A FIRE HOSE.

THE MESSAGE WE WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU AT THIS OPEN HOUSE IS TO "DON'T WAIT - CHECK THE DATE!  REPLACE SMOKE ALARMS EVERY 10 YEARS."  IN ADDITION:

COME SEE THE GRAPEVINE SAFETY BRIGADE AS THEY SHARE WITH YOU SAFETY MESSAGES FROM A GALAXY NEAR YOU AND "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU".

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR HOME OWNERS OR GUARDIANS OF PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.  DURING AN EMERGENCY, MOST PEOPLE CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO THEIR HOME.  SOMETIMES THE DOOR IS LOCKED AND WE CANNOT GET IN WITHOUT DAMAGING YOUR DOOR.

FOR YEARS, COMMERCIAL PROPERTY OWNERS HAVE INSTALLED A KEY SAFE BOX ON THE EXTERIOR OF THEIR BUILDINGS TO AVOID SUCH DAMAGES... NOW YOU CAN DO THAT AT YOUR HOME IN GRAPEVINE THROUGH THE FOLLOWING LINK.

https://www.knoxhomebox.com/

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS THE KEY TO OPEN THAT BOX AFTER INSTALLATION AND YOU CAN PUT YOUR KEY IN THE BOX FOR OUR EMERGENCY USE TO HELP YOU.  THIS IS YOUR CHOICE AND IS NOT A REQUIREMENT.  ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS PROGRAM IN GRAPEVINE, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL 817 410-4420.
