How long do I have to take care of my ticket?
You have a court date on your citation and you must take care of the citation by that date. If you would like to see the judge you must appear on the date and time that is on your citation. You must bring photo identification with you. The court date on your citation is a plea date only. No trials will be held on that date.
2.
Do I have to come in person to handle my citation?
If you want to request deferred disposition, defensive driving, or you want to plead Not Guilty and have a trial scheduled you MUST come in person no later than the court date shown on the citation. You must bring photo identification with you. If you are not going to request one of these options you can pay online or you can mail a money order to P.O. Box 2413, Grapevine, Texas, 76099. No personal checks are accepted. To pay online go to

3.
How much is my citation?
You can contact the Court to find out information about your fine. Please wait three (3) business days before contacting the Court. You can also explore www.municipalonlinepayments.com/grapevinetx to obtain the cost of your citation. The fine may increase with deferred disposition. Please note - if you opt to pay online it will result in a conviction on your driving record unless you have previously come in person and made arrangements with the Court for deferred disposition.

4.
I received a ticket for expired registration, expired inspection, expired drivers license, or failure to change my address on my driver's license, how can I resolve this ticket?
You may qualify to have your citation dismissed if you show the Court that you corrected the offense within 20 business days from the date you received the citation, or by your initial court date, whichever is later. You must present the proof to the Court by the court date on your citation. There will be a dismissal fee to be paid in full at the time of dismissal. If you do not comply with the dismissal requirements you will be required to pay the full fine by your court date, or appear on the date listed on the citation to see the judge.
5.
I received a ticket for Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility (no liability insurance). What can I do?
The Court can dismiss an insurance ticket if you show proof of valid liability insurance. Either your name or the vehicle you were driving must be on the insurance proof, and the "effective from" and "effective to" dates have to cover the date the citation was issued. There is no fee for dismissal. If you do not meet these guidelines for dismissal you may contact the Court to see if you qualify for deferred disposition.
6.
Can I contest my ticket?
Yes. You must come in person to enter a plea of "Not Guilty" by the court date that is on your citation. You must bring photo identification with you. You will then be scheduled a trial. You must come again in person for your trial.
7.
How do I obtain my driving record?
You can obtain your driving record from www.texasonline.com. If you are obtaining your record to comply with defensive driving requirements you must obtain record type "3A" and the cost is $12.00. You print the record directly from the website.
