Animal Control

Auto Registration

Birth Certificates

Certified Birth Certificates are available in the City Secretary’s Office to anyone born in Texas from the year 1926 to present (children must be two months old). Bulk Trash

Every Wednesday is bulk trash pick-up day. Please set out bulk trash by 7 am. Boxes do not have to be broken--just light enough for a man to lift. Limbs do not have to be tied together. If you have questions or your bulk trash was not picked up, please call the Allied service numbers at 817-332-7301, ext. 21033, 21034 or 21035. The holiday bulk pick-up schedule is listed here.

Cable Television/Telephone Service

Grapevine is served by several cable/phone companies, depending on where you live. Time Warner Cable (click here) serves the whole City. Verizon (click here) serves the area north of Hall-Johnson. AT&T (click here) serves the area to the south of Hall-Johnson.

Child Passenger Safety Seat Inspection

City Offices Holidays

To allow our employees to celebrate with their families, the City observes the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Curfew

The City of Grapevine does not enforce a curfew.

Commuter Rail

In late 2006, as part of a comprehensive sales tax election, Grapevine voters approved 3/8 of a cent to be used for commuter rail along the Cottonbelt line from Southwest Fort Worth, through Grapevine and into D/FW Airport. The project is currently in the Environmental Impact Assessment stage, a process required for federal funding. For more information on the process and the project in general, click here.

Door-to-Door Solicitation

Solicitor permits are issued by the City Secretary’s Office. Applications, Rules and Regulations (governed by a Grapevine City Ordinance) may be downloaded here. Please contact the City Secretary’s Office at 817-410-3182 if you have questions.

Drainage Problems

To report a drainage problem during normal working hours, telephone 817-410-3332. For after-hours emergencies, contact the Grapevine Police Department's non-emergency number at 817-410-8127, and the request will be forwarded to on-call personnel.

Drivers License

To renew or obtain a Texas Drivers License, the nearest Texas Department of Public Safety is located at 624 NE Loop 820, at the Pipeline Exit, in Hurst (get directions).

Electrical Outages

Contact your retail electrical provider (Reliant, TXU Energy, National Power Company, etc.). They, in turn, notify Oncor Electric Distribution. Please do not try to contact Oncor directly; they work only with retail electrical service providers.

Garage Sales

Permits are not required for garage sales. Signs may only be posted on private property in compliance with the City’s zoning ordinance.

Gas Company

Gas and Oil Drilling

Gas and oil drilling requires a Special Use Permit approved by City Council in nonresidential districts in compliance with the City's Oil and Gas Well Drilling Ordinance. Click here for FAQ's

Golf Course

The Grapevine Golf Course, located just east of Lake Grapevine Dam off Fairway Drive (get directions), is one of the most popular courses in Tarrant County, playing more than 65,000 rounds of golf per year on the average. Green fees range from $30 per round weekdays to $35 on weekends and holidays. With 27 holes, tee times are readily available and on most days, walk ups are easily accommodated. Grapevine Vintage Railroad

Travel in authentic 1920s-30s Victorian-style coaches between the Cotton Belt Depot and the Fort Worth Stockyards. From the Stockyards you may also wish to take the Trinity River Run. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets online.

Handbill Distribution

Permits are not required as long as the handbill is an advertisement. If you wish to take orders or visit with citizens, a solicitor permit is required. Contact the City Secretary’s Office at 817-410-3182 for further information.

Handicap Accessible Playgrounds

Grapevine has several handicap accessible playgrounds located throughout the City. One playground specifically designed for total access by wheelchair patrons is Casey's Club House at Dove Park. Mosquito Spraying

The City of Grapevine does not spray for mosquitoes since we find that the risks associated with the spray often outweigh the benefits. For more information, click here.

Nash Farm

The historic 5.2 acre Nash Farm is located near historic downtown Grapevine at 626 Ball Street (get directions). The farmstead consists of the original house, the original barn and a family cemetery.

Since purchasing the Farm in 1999, the Grapevine Heritage Foundation has made many improvements: Restoration of the 1905 barn; construction of the corral and pole barn; planting of several crops; presentation of the annual Spring In To Nash Farm and Fall Round-Up event, and the nearly complete restoration of the Nash farmhouse. The farmhouse will become an agricultural learning center offering educational programs, interpretive exhibits and historical perspectives on a disappearing part of our heritage, as well as a family entertainment facility. Northeast Transportation Service (NETS)

NETS is a transportation service for residents of Bedford, Euless, Grapevine, Haltom City, Hurst, Keller and North Richland Hills who are disabled or 55 years of age or older. Online Offense Reporting System

Citizens are now able to complete certain Police reports online. Types of reports that may be submitted include: Animal ordinance violation or complaint; burglary of a vending machine; criminal mischief/vandalism/disorderly conduct; harassing phone calls; lost property; reckless driving; other theft (no firearms/license plates); and vehicle burglary. Parade of Lights

This de-light-ful Christmas parade kicks off the holiday season annually on the Thursday after Thanksgiving. Please contact the Chamber of Commerce, producers of the parade, at 817-481-1522 for information.

Parking Boats/RVs/Trailers in Driveways

Boats, recreational vehicles and trailers are regulated by the residential zoning ordinances and are allowed to be parked in a front yard driveway only with an approved permit from the Buiding Inspection Department when side or rear yard parking is not feasible. Public Art

Property Taxes

The City of Grapevine has approved a property tax rate of $0.3625 per $100 of valuation for calendar year 2007. For example, the owner of a home assessed at $150,000 will owe taxes of $543.75. Click here to view the 2007 Truth-in-Taxation and Effective Tax Rate Statements.

Recycle Bins

Recycle and replacement bins may be picked up (at no charge) from the Service Center at 501 Shady Brook Dr. (get directions). Lids for the bins may be purchased at the Utility Billing Department in City Hall for $6, then the receipt taken to the Service Center for lid pickup. Service Center hours are 7 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.

Recycling

The City of Grapevine has selected Allied Waste Services, Inc. as the contractor to provide recycling service in the City. Allied may be reached at 817-332-7301 or 800-333-7301. Many facilities are offered to citizens for meetings and/or events. There is a minimal charge for the rental of the Bessie Mitchell House and the Merlot Community Room and you must be a Grapevine resident/Grapevine Business Owner to reserve one of these two facilities. Non-Grapevine residents may reserve the Trawick Pavilion, Parr Park Pavilion, and Dove Park pavilions. Other rental facilities and the contacts are listed below:

Sales Tax

A sales tax is imposed on all retail sales, leases and rentals of most goods, as well as taxable services. The State of Texas imposes a rate of 6 1/4% (.0625). The City of Grapevine imposes an additional local sales tax of 2% (.02), for a combined total of state and local sales tax of 8 1/4% (.0825).

School Districts

Grapevine is served by three school districts: HEB ISD (click here); Carroll ISD (click here), and the Grapevine/Colleyville ISD (click here).

Senior Activities Center (SAC)

The SAC, 421 Church (get directions), is open to all seniors who would like to participate in classes, field trips and activities. Priority is given to Grapevine residents for certain activities due to their residency and popularity of the activity. A federally funded lunch is provided at noon, Monday through Friday by Senior Citizen Services of Greater Tarrant County, Inc. Guidelines dictate that seniors aged 55 to 59 years pay $6.00. Seniors 60 years plus pay by donation (the suggested donation is $2.00). Reservations are required. Telephone 817-410-8130 for more information. Transportation may be requested with 24 hours notice.

SeniorMovers

This volunteer program assists Grapevine’s senior residents age 55 plus with transportation to and from medical and dental appointments when other resources such as family, friends and NETS are unable to help. Please contact the SAC at 817-410-8130 to register.

Storage Buildings

All storage buildings require permits. There is no charge for storage buildings not exceeding 120 square feet in area. Click here for Submittal Requirements. Street Light Repair

All street lights in the City of Grapevine are owned and maintained by Oncor Electric Delivery. To report street light outages, you may submit a Traffic Request Form here, or report the outage to Oncor ED here.

Swimming Pools

The City offers two public pools for residents: Dove Pool, 1509 Hood Lane, 817-410-8140, and Pleasant Glade Pool, 1805 Hall Johnson, 817-410-8137. Swimming lessons are offered during the summer season, and the pools are available for birthday parties. Please call for more information and season/times.

Trolley Service

In collaboration with the City of Grapevine, the Gaylord Texan provides complimentary trolley service form Grapevine’s Historic District, Grapevine Mills Mall the Gaylord Texan. Hourly pick-up and drop-off locations include Grapevine’s Historic Railroad Depot, the Torian Cabin (corner of Main and Wall Streets), outside Neiman Marcus’ Last Call, and the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center. Volleyball Courts

The courts at Dove Park are reserved for league play. Courts at Parr Park and Bear Creek Park are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Voter Registration Information

Water Bills

Bill may be paid online here or in person at City Hall at 200 S. Main (get directions). A night deposit drop-off box is located at the back of City Hall on Burton Street.

Watering Ordinance

The Lawn and Landscape Irrigation and Water Conservation Ordinance states that irrigation or watering of any lawn or landscape is prohibited between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm at all times throughout the year.
