Register To Vote - Last Day, Tomorrow, April 4 

The last day to register to vote in the May Election is tomorrow, Thursday, April 4.  Voter registration applications are available in City Hall, 200 South Main Street, or at the Grapevine Public Library, 1201 Municipal Way. The application may also be downloaded from Tarrant County Elections at bit.ly/2UgacIR. For additional informationplease call 817.831.8683.   

 

General City Election – May 4 

The General City Election to elect City Council Place 3 and City Council Place 4 will be held on Saturday, May 4.  Polls will be open from 7 am – 7 pm.  On Election Day, voters can only vote at The REC, 1175 Municipal Way.  Early Voting will take place from April 22 – April 30.  During this time, voters may cast their ballot at The REC, 1175 Municipal Way, or any polling location in Tarrant County.

2nd Annual Grapevine Rotary Club’s Annual Rubber Duck Race – Tomorrow, April 4 

Join the Grapevine Rotary on Thursday, April 4 from 5 – 7 pm at The REC, 1175 Municipal Way for the 2nd Annual Rubber Duck Race!  Thousands of rubber ducks will be dropped into the lazy river for a race to the finish line. Proceeds benefit scholarships for local students, community events such as Feed Our Kids, Canine Companions for Independence (service dogs for handicapped individuals), local Special Olympics events, and other community programs and projects. This family-friendly event will feature games and prizes, including a drawing for a new automobile from Sam Pack Five Star Subaru Grapevine from the list of those who purchased $100/ducks or more!

Keep Grapevine Beautiful invites you to help support our Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off® event on Saturday, April 6. This annual event encourages Texans to volunteer and clear Texas roadsides of trash. As the single largest, one-day cleanup event in the state, it serves as the signature event for the Great American CleanupProjects include litter pick up and planting. All are welcome. If you have not preregistered and would like to participate, please come to Trawick Pavilion at 9 am to volunteer.

This class is taught by Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine staff and is designed for adults 60+ years of age. Enrollment is limited to develop a comfortable sharing environment. The REC of Grapevine – April Incentive 

Participate in a fitness assessment with one of our personal trainers and receive a “My Fitness RECord Log Book”. This fitness log, produced specifically for The REC, allows you to set daily and weekly goals. Each page is weekly, Sunday to Saturday and includes space for your cardio and strength training information and notes. Assessments include body measurements, a variety of short fitness level tests, and great information from our trainers. 27th Annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail & Blessing of the Vines – Saturday, April 13 
Raise a toast to the good life at Grapevine's 27th Annual New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail & Blessing of the Vines. A “tasting passport” will be required and will serve as your ticket at the various wineries.  You may obtain your tasting passport at the Convention and Visitors Bureau, 636 South Main Street. Adding to the day’s festivities, the Blessing of the Vines will take place.  During this centuries-old tradition, a priest bestows a blessing on the vineyards for an upcoming fruitful season and harvest, and on the newly produced wines from the prior year's yield.  This event is for participants ages 21 and older (only).  To purchase tickets and for additional information, please visit GrapevineTexasUSA.com.

Grapevine Garden Club Plant Sale - Saturday, April 13 

Color your world with plants at this year's Garden Club Annual Plant Sale at the Botanical Gardens. The sale features heirloom perennials, butterfly nectar and host plants, as well as a wide selection of other plants appropriate for this area. This is our first year to host a children’s potting area where the first 200 children can decorate and plant a pot under the direction of Master Gardener interns. In addition, this year’s event will boast a wide variety of succulents, herb pots, hanging baskets, gently used gardening books, and vintage pots.

The class is 90% participation. All successful participants will receive certification in babysitting and a babysitting training book. Please provide your own lunch, snacks, andrinks for the 30-minute lunch break. Defensive Driving - Saturday, April 13
Bright Driver is a National Safety Council defensive driving course for all individuals that need an auto insurance discount and/or need to dismiss a traffic citation. Instructors are certified teachers for TEA/NSC. This six-hour course may also be used as a corporate safety course. Introduction to Fly Fishing – Every Monday, April 22 through May 13
This introductory course will take the most novice fishing enthusiast and turn you into a seasoned fly fisherman. Following a systematic curriculum, Introduction to Fly Fishing will take you through the basics of equipment, forward casting and back casting with ample hands-on experience and instruction from a veteran fly fishing expert.
