Water Conservation and Lawn Watering Restrictions

Area lake levels are at or above normal elevation.

Population estimates for North-Central Texas is projected to increase from 5.5 million to almost 9.5 million by 2030. The Dallas/Fort Worth Region has grown by an estimated 800,000 persons since the 2000 census. Development of new water sources is almost impossible in today's regulated environment, and water conservation is a major factor in meeting peak water demands.

Grapevine residents receive approximately 70 percent of their drinking water from the Trinity River Authority, which is supplied by Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland Chambers Reservoir. Approximately 30 percent of our water comes from the City’s water supply (Lake Grapevine). Lake Grapevine’s normal conservation pool elevation is 535 feet. Click here for the most current lake level information.

Mandatory Restriction: irrigation or watering of any lawn or landscape is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Exception: hand watering and the use of soaker hoses.

Please call staff at (817) 410-3330 if you have questions or would like to take advantage of the rain/freeze sensor guard program.

Thank you for your cooperation and together we can better manage the utilization of our water resources.
