Census Indexes in Book Form
The following list shows the printed census indexes available at the Grapevine Public Library. If a state is NOT listed, the library does not own a book index for that state. Census indexes are shelved in the library's genealogy area. They can be readily identified by the large yellow dot toward the bottom of the book's spine.
Federal censuses include territorial census and reflect the population schedules of the census.
Mortality schedules list those people who died in the state in the year the mortality schedule was compiled.
The 1890 Veterans census lists survivors of the Union soldiers, sailors, and marines and their spouses. Some Confederate survivors appear in error.
