Storytimes are presented weekly and puppet shows are presented the last week of each month at toddler, preschool, and family storytimes.  We also bring in additional performers and offer special events throughout the year.  We offer an extensive collection of picture books, easy readers, juvenile fiction, and non-fiction.  New books, Newbery and Caldecott award winners, and Bluebonnet books are prominently displayed for the convenience of our patrons, and recommended reading lists are available at the Children’s Desk.  In addition to our print materials, the library has a collection of entertaining and educational media including children’s music and storytelling CDs, books on CD, read-along picture book and CD sets, DVDs and videos.  Looking up materials is easy with our Kids’ Catalog, as results are limited to juvenile items. Children may also browse the catalog by clicking subject icons. The children’s librarians are also available to offer assistance, answer questions, and recommend books.
