
Roy Stewart, elected in May 1996, is in the banking and real estate investment business. He and his wife have lived in Grapevine since 1981. Mr. Stewart was re-elected to the City Council in May of 2008.
Mr. Stewart is currently the City Council liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Board of Zoning Adjustments and is the alternate Council liaison to the Building Board of Appeals.
Mr. Stewart and his wife, Joan, are very active in community affairs. In 2007, Mr. Stewart was appointed to the Board of Directors of Northstar Bank of Texas, and is the past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the former Texas Bank in Grapevine, past President of the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, past board member of the GCISD Board of Trustees, past President and member of the Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine Board of Trustees and served as Chairman of the City's 1994 Bond Committee. He also donates his time to local civic organizations.
