Darlene Freed has lived in Grapevine for over 23 years. Her public service started in 1990 when she became a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and served in that capacity for 5 years. She was elected to the Grapevine City Council in 1998. Her passion for the community is shown through her volunteerism. Darlene has given countless hours over the years to worthy causes such as the R&R Military Flight Program, GRACE, American Cancer Society, Baylor Hospital and the Women's Shelter--just to name a few.

Darlene is a member of the Grapevine Rotary Club and the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce. As a member of the Grapevine City Council, Darlene is the liaison to the Grapevine Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Metroport Teen Court, the G/CISD and the D/FW International Airport Board. She was recently named a member of the Task Force for Intergovernmental Affairs by the Texas Municipal League.
