Essential Travel

dashboard view of highway at sunset in Grapevine Texas

As we all work together to keep our families and each other safe, we thank you for your concern, compassion, and dedication to doing what is right for our community.

We are getting several questions regarding concerns about the consequences of driving somewhere and getting stopped by an officer. Please be assured Grapevine Police will not stop a vehicle just for being on the road.

We understand people have essential travel needs and our officers are not going to stop drivers without cause. Driving to work, the grocery store, and even to the trails to get in some exercise (keeping social distancing in mind) are all considered essential under Tarrant County’s Stay at Home order.

If you want to read the full list of what is essential for leaving your home, please read through the Executive Order at bit.ly/2wznXIP.
