    About the Doughboys The Light Crust Doughboys are The State of Texas' Official Music Ambassadors named by the 74th Texas Legislature, are Texas Commission on the Arts' Official Touring Artists, and are inductees in the Texas Cowboy, Texas Western Swing, Rockabilly, Texas Music, and Cowtown Society of Western Music Halls of Fame. Led by Grammy Award-Winning artist and producer, Art Greenhaw on bass, guitar, piano and vocals, The Light Crust Doughboys star virtuoso instrumentalists and singers: Dion Pride (son of Charley Pride) vocals, guitar and keyboards, Grammy Award-Winning violinist Jim Baker who also sings and plays banjo; Marek Eneti electric violinist; Randy Wills (5th generation descendant of Bob Wills) on keyboards and bass; and Doughgirl, Teresa Anderson on vocals.     This is a meeting of the Library Board. Annually in April, the City accepts applications from its citizens for appointment to the various boards and in June the City Council makes appointments. We salute these volunteers for their dedicated service. Our Library Board acts in an advisory capacity on matters pertaining to the Grapevine Municipal Library.

We support community projects such as the public library, the Senior Activity Center, military quilts for veterans and wounded soldiers, quilts for JPS hospital and nursing homes, and lap quilts and pillow cases that went to the Gulf Coast after Katrina.

  1. Police VS Fire Softball Challenge

    April 19, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ Oak Grove Softball Complex

    The Grapevine Shield Foundation is proud to host their fifth annual Grapevine Police (Watchmen) vs. Grapevine Fire (Smoke Eaters) Softball Challenge on Saturday, April 19, 7 p.m. at Oak Grove Ballfield (adult softball fields). The Watchmen, and the Smoke Eaters, will battle it out in this fifth annual Police vs. Fire Softball Challenge.  Prizes that have generously been donated by local businesses will be raffled or placed in a silent auction during the game. These teams support the Grapevine Shield Foundation who will provide financial support to Police Officers and/or Firefighters (and their families) if they are injured or killed serving our community. The Shield Foundation started a scholarship program last year and will award four $1,500.00 scholarships to the children of the Police and Fire Department employees this year.

The Watchmen, and the Smoke Eaters, will battle it out in this fifth annual Police vs. Fire Softball Challenge.  Prizes that have generously been donated by local businesses will be raffled or placed in a silent auction during the game. Bring the kids and your cameras for great photo opportunities with these gracious athletes. Many various local businesses have also generously donated wonderful prizes which will be raffled off or placed in a silent auction during the game.  This fundraising event for the Grapevine Shield Foundation is taken very seriously by the Police and Fire departments with a friendly rivalry between these first-responders who work together to protect the safety of our community.
