The City of Grapevine has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System – an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. The system allows the City of Grapevine to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action. Such notifications include: West Nile Virus notifications, boil-water notices, missing children, or evacuation notices. The system is capable of dialing 60,000 phone numbers per hour. Once a call is connected, a pre-recorded message describing the situation to a live person or an answering machine message is delivered describing the situation. The message may include instructions requiring action on the part of the recipient.
Landline phone numbers are provided through the annual purchase of the local telephone company database. If you do not have a landline at your residence, you must register through the CodeRED link below to receive CodeRED phone calls. No one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included. All businesses should register, as well as individuals with unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the last year, and who use a cellular phone as their primary home phone. Additionally, you may now provide an email address and/or text message address to receive notifications through CodeRED.
Information submitted to the CodeRed system is not accessible by the City of Grapevine. To opt-out and remove your contact information, visit ECNetwork.com. For those with questions about your account, please contact CodeRed at 866.939.0911.
